Health and education are among key factors on which the development of a country depends. Health plays an indirect positive and significant role in economic development through the fact that healthier individuals have higher returns to labor input. Furthermore individuals who are healthier and have a greater life expectancy will have the incentive to invest in education which is the driver of economic growth.

Populations of the developing countries face a number of health problems of which malaria and HIV/AIDS which continue their ravaging courses. Lasting development partly depends on the health of people who work to prevent sinking in poverty. The portion allocated to health in the budget of many developing countries is generally inadequate and the Democratic Republic of the Congo is not spared. Besides the government, communities have a big role to play in taking charge of their health problems.
